WSB Release August 6th
Thanks for all the Help BILL, TONY, GREG, JAMES & HASHEEM, you guys really make it easy to get those lil WSB on their way! BWE and the kayaking community was well represented!!! From Rich Ford... "WSB Friends, On 8'6 we released 7363 fish into King Harbor. Took about 7 1/2 hours. If we had put 736 fish in each tank would of been 75 minutes sooner. Temp log was removed from water at 11 AM. Probably a good time to release the fish but I would of wanted bigger but looked like a red tide might be starting. Thanks to Lisa Rodriguez taking a picture of Hubbs people and some of volunteers. I'll empty tanks next week and let them dry after pouring bleach into degasser buckets. Some time later we will have a clean the tanks party. Wont fill tanks til just a few days before we get new fish. About Nov. we will get next batch of fish. Thanks to all volunteers for their work on this batch of fish and those who helped on release. "

Here are some pictures:
1-The BWE was represented at the event. 2-If you look hard, on the right area; you can see some newly released fish. 3-This time they used a hose instead of chute, and it was hard to capture the fish going into water. 4-There is almost 3,500 fish in this tank. 5-Volunteers worked hard to get the fish quickly in two tanks for release. |
