Let me just buy this, boat batteries to power it all day and might as well get a full radar setup wired in.

You wouldnt need a boat battery to power this all day. I have an hds 5 on max brightness and get 2.5-2.75 (12) hour days on the water. Get a good lithium phosphate battery and you're good.

Wow!!! What a steal. I have that unit and absolutely love it. Easy definition between bait and game fish, even down to 300'

Just purchased the Hook 7. Do you mind sharing what battery and charger you are using? Trying to order from Japan so need to find online.

This is the battery I use, comes with charger. I have had it for over two years and it still does 2.5-3 full days on one charge.

I also soldered a harness on that connects to a waterproof plug. The same ones that are utilized on hobie bait tanks. I bought an extra set to convert my charger from the alligator clips to this plug as well.
