Looking to go out

My brother (18) and I (19) were looking to go out of la jolla sometime, we have the hobie 17t. Just looking for some tips or if anyone wants to help us go out and catch some yellowtail.

Tips

Have two rods set up minimum, 1 with a sabiki on it to troll I like to put a swim bait on the end as the weight just in case , and the other one with a hook, you can add a sinker if the conditions are rough. After you catch bait and start slow trolling look for birds, points, or kelp, give it a few passes and drop an iron down there if you aren't getting bit .
