FF help

First time poster long time lurker seeking out the wealth of knowledge that is BWE. I recently bought an lowrance elite5 ti unit for my outback to replace my Garmin. The issue I am having it the total scan transducer. From what I have read it cannot be mounted in the hull for the side scan to work. With that being said I am looking to either use a ram mounted arm and or the mad frog. Does anyone have experience using either one of these and will it affect the tracking on my outback??

I use a magnetic transducer holder for my 50/200. Liked the simplicity and ease of install. Good to go for sonar and dsi but do not know about side scan. Thinking side scan may be better suited for boats but may well be wrong. I did a mod to my outside mag to keep it from moving fyi.
