gel cell

It's a sealed gell cell so as long as it's not submerged they are usually OK.
I just use the Hobie battery holder attached to the mast/accessory receiver inside the hull...KISS...

+1 on this setup, the tray also lets you set it on a hatch rim, like the one usually under the bait tank or crate.

Waterproof connectors and above the floor/water works well.
