Yak Surf Club

I am going to start the new year off following through on some ideas. One of those is to have a monthly yak surf get together at different beaches. I am thinking the first Saturday of every month. I want to go back to San Onofre, so the first one will be there on January 5th, Sunrise(opening) until when ever.
So I can get off work, I will be offering rentals Mini Xs and 3.4s for $20 for the day. If you have your own yak to surf, these will be no charge events with a club format, collectively deciding where we will meet the following month. After we have had enough we can fire up the grill and potuck it. the main idea here is having some fun

San O Mike finally got me some footage he shot from our summer clinic.THANKS MIKE!!! The surf was on the small side, but we all had a blast........funny, I don't remember wearin' a white T shirt.....serious farmer tan.

If you want in, e mail me at andyoex@yahoo.com

Count me in, though can't make the Jan 5th one, the lad's soccer assessment...dang it.
But will be at future ones, count on it...that was a blast...

Andy, hit the tanning booths first, will ya?

I would be interested in doing a little yak surfing. Just as long as I don't get any crap for surfing my 'long board' (X-Factor) I don't know if I could make it regularly though. My Navy Reserve drill weekends are usually the first weekend of the month. I'll have to re-sched some Saturdays. Sounds like fun.

That was a fun day, in spite of the scary surf.

I don't remember being as big around as a barrel, either.

This is a NO DUES absolutely free club, open to everybody.

The first one at San O we will be meeting at the south end that is open to paddle surfers.

That is Surf Beach (immediately N of the power plant) not Trail 6, S of the plant.

Unfortunately, looks like might be rain and some wind as well. If weather was better, I was gonna try and make this...but looks like I'll wait until another time. Have fun all!

Mud

If it gets muddy, they usually lock the gate so we can't get in surf beach at SanO.
