Trailers
So I am really thinking it is time to get/build a trailer so this skinny 5'11", 150# stick figure doesn't have to try to muscle that thing up there in the future. My goal is the smallest trailer feasible to minimize footprint in the garage and wherever I park. I know there are pics sprinkled about in other posts. Also looking for pros & cons of what you have. I don't need to store gear on it beyond the yak, but it would be a nice bonus. |

This might not have the foot print you want for parking, but you can fold it up and chain it to your hitch with a lock so it doesn't get swiped. Then you can hook it all up again and away you go. I'm sure it has a better foot print for the garage than anything else. Cheap price and taking the guess work of building one might make it worth it. Maybe if you have the means or skills you can butcher it down and make it narrower.

Those malone trailers
Yeah those malone trailers that Andy uses are pretty sweet, pretty minimal. Only drawback is that they are pretty pricey, but if your in for a decent trailer I'm sure one of those malones would fit the bill.

Harbor Freight has a small trailer that actually folds up and can be stored against a wall in the garage. I made my own trailer from a motor cycle trailer but I don't need to store it in a garage. You can see a picture of it in the thread Transporting PA 14

I think I'm just gonna ask the girl in the red bikini at Steve Greens tournament to help me with my kayak. Of course it might kill me to hold my stomach in while she's helping me, but it would be worth it.

I helped a few guys load up and yours was probably the easiest with those carpeted 2x4s. Don't forget about one of last years HOW sponsors - Bulldog folding trailers - if you're looking around to buy.

I also do not recommend the harbor freight unless you have solid mechanical skills. I had to return the axle right out of the box because it had bad bearings or wasn't assembled properly. Had I not noticed, it would have been a disaster. Then I bought an older one when I moved out here and the bearings burned out on the way home. That wasn't harbor freights fault. However, I did find the bearings are not standard trailer bearings, are tricky to find and come from a mazda. Also, normal bearing buddies don't fit the hubs so they're harder to keep properly greased. |

This is the $150 harbor freight trailer. I extended the tongue 10 feet. You could easily make it so the tongue could come off with a couple pins... That would make it handy to park in LJ.

Here's a short vid of mine. Jet ski trailers can be had for a song. I think I paid $125 for it and I had the rack. I decided to take the bunkers off in lew of the rack but the bunkers would have been fine. They were adjustable so they would have worked also |

Adjusted the bunks and slid the bow rest all the way forward. Aft end hangs over less than 3.5 feet, was able to keep the box and it fits in the garage with just enough room at both ends to get by. Not perfect but more than good enough
