LaJolla report 11/29/15 ghost busted
Decided to make bait even though the yoyo was working. Trolled for about an hour or so and got bite off. Decided to stop trolling and throw the yoyo some more. Got about 6 rockfish throughout the day. About 2o'clock figured I would start heading toward the beach. Fished the kelp for a while with spinnerbaits and what not, no luck. As I was getting clear of the kelp I noticed a bunch of bait fish and couple game fish being active. Dropped the yoyo. When it was at the bottom I marked a nice size fish. As I was thinking damn I wish that guy would hit my jig. He DID, it was "FISH ON" in a major way. Solid hard pull and around 10mins later I pulled up the biggest WSB I have ever seen let alone reel in. Dude was puking and stuff and boated him. Most epic day I have had to date on artificial lures Going to do a picture dump, no real order here |

Yep.....nice fish but never hold a WSB like that, lose your grip and its not going to be pretty. congrats again!

There is a saying, "better lucky than good". Like you said 3pm and on iron, that is definitely different for WSB. That is so awesome and inspiring. I'm still waiting for my large WSB, like that one. Congrats on the great haul.

So, is that what your version of a Striped Bass looks like on the left coast?
