lil' BWE dood logo icon
but we now have the lil' BWE dood icon in the URL bar!!! I do see he's been flaky on me, popping in and out, and I'm trying to understand this better to put "him" in order. Supposedly, this favicon.ico behavior is temperamental with Internet Explorer. The local cache may have to be emptied out to get him to properly display... If you have BWE site saved in your favorites and that's how you're accessing the site, I've been reading that he may not show up at all. Please let me know if "he" shows up for you and is he consistent. I'd be interested to hear from folks that are using Firefox, Safari, Macs, Vista, from all those different Internet browsing situations. THANKS!!! |

Thanks steveooo,
yes the ones on the main site logo, I'm talking about a little icon that is supposed to show up in the URL address bar. Do you see that in both browsers? It shows up for me sometimes, sometimes he doesn't (?!). |

Ya, sorry Adi, didn't mean to confuse you by ripping the logo off. I see him in the url bar on both browsers.

Iv'e got "the dood" on url, and shortcut bar, on i-mac running Safari on osX and Firefox on Pc running XP. I even get him in Explorer on my imac using a Virtual XP with VMWare's Fusion. He seems to be consistent, although I have had issues with Rss feeds and other URL Icons in my "favorites" coming and going as well, they are just disobedient little jerks!

Thanks folks, I appreciate it!!!
I guess this is just one of those things that will be flaky no matter what you do. Check out wiki description http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Favicon - it says it all. I love the part: There is no known guarantee that favicons will appear on all computers, even on same browsers with the same versions. THere ya' have it. We'll leave it there as long as it doesn't put too much strain on the web server. If that happens, it'll be gone on no time. He looks cool, but he'll be history if he bogs down the site performance. |
