I'm trying to figure out the regulations, is the halibut season closed for the rest of this year?

In addition, there are lots of other fish that look very similar to California Halibut but have different regulations. Sole, Turbot and Sand Dabs to name a few. The shape of the tail and how far back the jaw projects are the main things to look for.
