9/1 Blacks/Round House

Finally able to post after years of watching all of you catching fish.

Left at first light with Dave E. and Matt. Made some bait at the pier and headed north to Black's and Round House. Lots of bait balls and birds but no action. Few bumps by the group but no luck.

Later in the morning was bouncing a greenie on a trap set up at the suggestion of Dave. My prayers were finally answered with a 20 lb. halibut that actually made it into the yak. I would have fibbed about the fight but Matt and Dave were right there. Came up easy, no fight and a clean gaff. It basically gave up and jumped into the kayak.

My first real fish on the kayak and Matt and Dave gave my all of the props and fanfare. I'll leave it to them to fill you in on the complete yard sale I had with the pole, gaff and trophy hook when trying to land my prize.

Thanks again to Matt and Dave for the advice and Matt for all of the photos. Photos are posted in Matt's gallery.

I know we thought it was maybe 15lbs but it was fat. We used Matt's scale so I will have to rely on him.
