Dollar/peso

Don't know if you folks watch the currency exchange rates but the strength of the dollar is certainly being reflected in the dollar/pesos exchange. The dollar/pesos rate closed at 15.59 yesterday, which is up more than 15% in the past 6 weeks. Now you need to exchange a lot of money at the right place to get that rate but what it means in real terms is that your dollar goes a lot further down here right now than I can remember. Fuel prices are less than most of the US, certainly less than CA. Typical hotel room price of 450 pesos costs you $33 six weeks ago now costs about $29. Come on down and take advantage of it.

Just another simple example. I went to a local restaurant last night, which happens to be owned by the caretaker of my house. I had 3 fish tacos (I know what you are saying "You BOUGHT fish?") rice and beans, and 2 Pacifico's and it came to 140 pesos. $9.03 at today's rate. $10.86 six weeks ago.

Over 15:1 wow. Did you see that at any fuel stations. I think gas was 13:1 last year when I was down. That's great news for Baja travelers.

They're free if you know the right door to knock on.

I am looking forward to going down there again this year.

Are you interested in coming to Abreojos with us?

Still undecided about Abreojos. I actually took an exploratory trip down there today. Took the coast road down through La Bocana and took the blacktop home through Vizcayno. Not really my type of fishing but I might spend a day or two after you guys find the fish. Not a very esthetically pleasing area.

Id definitely prefer the Abre reefs over the esteros, myself.

Has Nico learned how to get up on the roof yet and bark in Spanish?
How many dog cookies per peso?
