There was a small crack, leaking water in the drive well. Below the water line.

YES Alan a 4 year old kayak, a HOBIE, this Mercedes has caught THOUSANDS of fish, for about $250 a YEAR! That to me is a steal to replace, NOT REPAIR it for under a GRAND. Might just be karma? Oh half of that is the NEW VANTAGE seat.

right? That's an awesome deal!! Especially when you consider the fact that the kayak was 4years old and had a seat that sucked. Now Bob has a new kayak with a killer seat and he only paid a $1k. That's what I call A++ customer service

hobie makes great products and good upkeep, and a very small warranty window.
Its always a great company when they can take more money out of you and make you feel all good inside. hope you get to keep your old mirage drive for that price!

I would put Hobies warranty against any other kayak warranty, of course I keep the old drive, but my wife got me a new Blue fin for christmas, so I have two drives for it, gives me a spare when we go to Baja. Again karma? What goes around, comes around?

One hell of a deal. Forget what the others say. Hobie makes a great product and there is a reason there is a cult following. Me included. You would be crazy not to jump on that deal!! Good on you!!!!!

Hey Bob, what did you do with the new Thresher?
I remember how "stoked" ( ) you were about getting it just before one of your last trips to Gonzaga last year and breaking it in. What happened, the "honeymoon" over? FFY |

I like the Thresher, but I bought it for surf launches as it is great for that. But I have owned 5 Hobies so far and they are still my GO TO for most trips.

On the shelf
Looks like the thrasher will be put on the shelf, or maybe you can leave it in Baja so you don't have to haul a yak back and forth. If so you can ow ride down there with me.
