Flat One in NPH

Went to NPH this afternoon to catch some spotties. Launched from coastguard station around 6:30pm to very light winds on an out going tide. Was throwing a slayer head w/ 4" calico hunter BH. Caught about 4 nice spotties and just as the sun was setting I thought to myself it would be nice to get a halibut. Threw a long cast, let it settle, couple cranks, thump, then hookset! It felt like i was snagged onto something then it started to take line as i backed down my almost buttoned down drag and i knew it wasn't spottie. It wasn't big but it was my first legal on a kayak measuring at 23"+. Didn't bring my game clip so i decided to go home early.
