Chula Vista Bayfront Park?

Has anyone ever launched their kayak here here?

What is the parking and boat launch like....are they free? What species of fish are in this area? Curfews?

I fished out of Bayside Park, which is about .25... maybe less... north of there, this morning.

I can't speak to Bayfront Park exactly, but I can't see it being any different than right across the way there.

Free parking. Sandy beach for launching. I caught a couple decent SBB.

The conditions were amazing. Glassy water, low wind in the AM, zero boats.

Excellent place for fishing. I may go there again tomorrow or maybe Tidelands. Everything is there: spotties, halibut, yellowfin croaker, shortfin corvina.

Very easy beach launch.

Free parking.

Fishing is usually good.

No crowds at all hardly any pressure at all from boats.

Ton of open water.

My favorite place to fish in the bay.

Actually Chula Vista bayfront park is where the boat launch is.

Bayside Park is north of there and a better launch for kayaks.

We launched out of bayside park today.

Like Buddha said, great and easy place to launch, plenty of free parking, and usually good fishing. Lots of folks launch from the beach north of the marina. I just use the boat ramp and paddle a bit farther. South bay can be an amazing place. Its fairly quiet and has square miles of eel grass flats. The fishing can be excellent depending on tide flow. Spotted bay bass are the most common catch but you can find halibut, corvina, yellow fin croaker, black croaker, spot fin croaker, sand bass in the deeper channels, bone fish, plenty of sharks n rays, and though they've been rare the last few years you can get in to some bonito back there too. Lots of different local and migratory birds and there's a population of green sea turtles that you see occasionally. Mike

That's the best place to launch in the South Bay. I launch from the ramp and there is plenty of parking on most days but sometimes it will be full when the lowrider clubs have car shows.
