Sunday June 24
Well launched at around 5 with Yanni and one of his buddy's to minimal surf and headed down to the pier.....in what would be a pretty dismal attempt at making bait. Searched the pier for bait for a little under an hour and called it quits and headed on out to the kelp to a swarm of yaks and pbrs, saw a really cool sea turtle along the way, attempted to make any bait in the kelp and discovered lots of people having a hard time getting bait. Finally made a spanish and pinned him on the flyline all por nada! Came in to a beautful set of waves and surfed on in on a specacular day only one thing was missing for me and that was a fish!!!

We launched at 5 am as well and I couldn't get the bait to bite much either. I managed to get 2 but all I could catch was a knothead! Lots of people out there trying and I did not see one person catch anything. They said the same thing happened on Sat. Oh well, there's always next weekend! I had a nice time out there anyways!

Bait was the only thing I was able to do Sunday. I managed eight pieces. Two fed to the knothead on the NW corner. One bait ripped by what I thought was a shark. The bait was cut cleanly in half and had one more cut on it that went almost all the way through. I did see one guy on a PB fighting a small mako until the line broke. Other than that it was a nice day and a great paddle.

Launched out at 5:00 am as well yesterday. Making bait was no problem as I made a dozen spanish macs. It was catching fish with the bait that was the problem. . Thousands of perch swimming around out there, even caught on on the sabiki.
Other than the lack of fish it was a nice day hanging out fishing with Sherm & Nunya. |

Those hairy eyes could not possibly have that sort of reach...
I was ~10,000 miles away, harvesting little of the fish that is still left in the Adriatic. Small, but tasty - much better eating than spotties.
