Oside Reefs 3/16

Hit up the reefs today in oside. The bite was really good today. Caught 15-20 mixed fish. Mostly sand bass and calicos. I did get my first male sheepy but he was borderline legal so I released it. Also a decent size sculpin released. EVERY bait was getting bit. I farmed like 4-5 fish that were substantially heavy. Still waiting for that big flatty. But I know it will come soon. I'm overdue

There are 8-10 different reefs in the vicinity, but the first one you come up on is about 1.3 miles from the bait barge. I stopped at that first one today tied off to a kelp stringer, and didn't have to move to the next one for about 2-3 hours.

I've been hitting the bait barge recently for the anchovies, and that what all my fish were caught on yesterday. But I have also had success with swimbaits out there. The heavier the better. I like 1 oz lead heads the best. With a 5.5 or 7" swimbaits. Drifting the heavy plastics in the surrounding sand has caught me a few fish
