Need advice

I was prepping my yak got yomorrow and after all was said and done, there was a pin lying on the carpet. I have no idea if it came from my yak or was just there. Hard to believe it's just a random pin. Maybe it came from my drive? I looked and my fins seem to be in order. Here's a pic. Any suggestions?

I've taken my drive apart and it doesn't look like anything that I've removed or replaced on my mirage drive.

Thank u sir. I'm comparing the parts list and I see nothing like it. Better safe the sorry. Looks like I'll check for something missing a pin.

Pin

It looks like the pin for the steering unit, it might be a spare. I can't tell the actual size fro the photo. Just un screw the cover and check.
I assum that you have a Hobie from you saying you have a drive.

I'm assuming you're referring to the rudder, if you are the pin for the steering unit (rudder) is plastic and the top has some sort of cap on it.

Could possibly be an idler pulley shaft...? Looks like the right size and shape...does it have a notch?

Pull your rudder straight down. That's the pin that holds it into the steering. Might be a spare?

If it's the locking pin, they come out of the black cap all the time. I keep pressing mine back in.

Need to epoxy it......

Yes it looks like the pin used to keep the plug in cart in the scupper Hole. Should have a black rounded plastic cap that came off

Thanks for all the feedback. Got on the water and had no problem so guess all is well. Will post a lizardfest extravaganza report shortly. My black cap from my wheels broke of a few weeks ago. Guess this was the other piece.

I have a really inappropriate assumption of what this is... I'm not posting it. But I want to.

But I won't.

I shouldn't.
