first trip out in the new kayak
went out wednesday to get a feel for the new kayak. the sit-in variety is defiantly different from the sit on variety that i've rented but i quickly got used to it. did some trolling around the Alamitos Bay with my trusty mini mackerel swimbaits and a bit of dropshotting with some 6'' Gulp sandworms. got a few bites but i got a little trigger happy on the hookset so the skunk was on. not a bad experience accept for the sunburn

My first kayak fish came in a borrowed sit-in, right off that same beach (at least I think.... Belmont shore?). It was a short halibut caught on a trolled jerk bait on a 3-way swivel, weighted down by a small torpedo sinker.
