Humminbird Free Transducer Swap No Longer Applicable
Some said they sent it back and got a free exchange. Others said no. I called Humminbird up today and they told me that they will swap your transducer for the plastic through hull one but it will be a 60 dollar charge and 15 dollars for shipping. This has been implemented this year. So everyone that did the swap last year got lucky. |

Hmmm... wish I would have known about that. Sent mine in under warranty, got back a refurb.

That's a shame. It was a great customer service program.
IIRC, the plastic through-hull xducer only costs about $60 to begin with. If you can just order one for anywhere near that, you'd be wise to just keep the original one and use it for something else - like ice fishing. The only drawback to the through-hull xducer is that it lacks the temp probe. I wish it had that, but I love the transducer. Here's mine as installed. |
