Tongyeong Kayak report
Tried for black porgy (sort of a seabream family), but didn't pan out. Lot of sea perch and red gurnard though, which are still tasty and provided some action. With temps in the 20s, it was chilly in the kayak for sure.
This was a new area which was interesting to check out. Current wasn't bad, and the waters pretty sheltered. Spent the night in a 25 dollar hotel, shared room with 6 other guys. Didn't matter to me about sharing a room as I hit the water as soon as I woke up anyway. Pretty nice place. Cold weather sucks and is hard on equipment. My chum mixer handle was cracked before I even took it out of the package, and my life jacket zipper was busted in half. Last edited by philr21; 01-12-2014 at 05:06 AM. |

Do they have any restrictions on species and size limits? Just wondering? Any agency like DFG?

Well at least you did not have to worry about icing your catch to keep it fresh.

No regulation here whatsoever. It's sad actually, as overfishing on some boats/ports is blatant with displays of numerous coolers full of fish at the end of a day. As much as I love Japan, Japan is the same way. Doesn't look good for the future.
