Mirage drive cable tension

Snapped cables and chains jumping and taking the top off of some teeth are the most popular fixes that I do in regards to Mirage drives. proper chain and idler pulley cable tension should prevent either of these from happening.

Determining if adjustment is needed...
Occasionally the cables may need to be
re-tightened. The cables should be kept
taut; however, the front chain should be a
little tighter than the rear chain. Push with
your thumbs at the points marked (A)
with moderate pressure (see the image
to the right). The side of the chain should
not go beyond the inside edge of the
drum casting

Replace the nylon insert lock nuts whenever you remove or find your self adjusting too much. For the low cost, they'll help keep the cable tension where you want it.
