I must be sick
So my question to you all, is it possible to spend too much time at a fishing store?

Bass Pro Shops never really excites me as most the stores close to us dont carry half of what I want to see (although it is almost all hunting that I look for at these places). Cabelas is a little better.
With online shopping now days stores get kind of boring after a while and I find myself checking out the mounts and fish tanks more than anything. |

Matt Moyer said it best to me the other day.... this fishing thing is an addiction. He said we all have enough "stuff" to go catch fish right now with what we have in the garage.
you know what, he's right! just go fish. Nic

I like the BPS in Vegas better than the one in Rancho. The ceiling display is awesome! I took lots of pictures there to use as reference in my drawings.

BPS is way over rated. Their prices aren't really that good either.

Or you could've driven back to La Jolla and fished the day away and drove back long before the wife even knew you were gone |

For those starting out with no gear, Basspro is a good place to locate many items at once.
For those of us who already have an assortment of gear for various fishing scenarios, we pretty much have everything we need from our many local shopping venues that carry specialized stuff. Aside from checking out the fishtanks, I only shop for outdoor clothes and some light terminal tackle when I do stop by. In Vegas, you could whittle away the time next door at Silvertons, which has a nice Mermaid fish tank for you and the kids. So, no, you are perfectly sane like the rest of us; except for the shared addiction of paddling out into the Pacific Ocean on a moderately small piece of polyethylene roto-molded plastic . P.S. Never buy the Offshore Brand Basspro Sabikis. I loaded up on 2 dozen one year and each pack had hooks that snapped like dry twigs... |

My wife was playing in a Slot Tournament, my son was having a blast with the Christmas stuff that has been setup for the kids. The wife was happy, my son was happy, and at first I thought while he's doing the Christmas stuff I can walk around and shop. I did plenty of walking around and bought some stuff, but as someone posted earlier, too much of a good thing can get boring. I got bored, I wanted to actually head over to Lake Meade and fish, and should have done so.

Fortunately it was Free to play in the tourney, but she didn't do well. Honestly, they were the worst slot machines I've ever seen in a tourney. We have played in 6 of these and each one we placed in the top 10. Many of the people walked away mad.

The Mermaid tank is a nice thing to check out. The clothes can be pretty cool when they are closing out some styles.
