Question Islander Questions

As the time approaches for my first mother ship trip, (Islander), I have a few questions as to packing and prep:

Should I have my kayak partially rigged, gear on the inside of kayak, or totally stripped down?

Are there any items I will be sorry about if I don't bring along?

Just a "boat bag" duffel enough?

BYOB?

Where do they store your poles, Do I need to put them in cases?

Do they process your fish on board?

Do we really have to sing Koom by yahh?

Any information on the details of what to expect logistically would probably help.

It might end up being turned upside down so anything that would fall off should be removed. Most guys remove their fishfinder, though they can work around it if you don't. I wouldn't store anything inside if you don't have to. I bring all my accesories seperately.

Nothing outside the normal stuff you'd take to LJ. Plus a bass rod if you want to entertain yourself with calicos. ANd maybe an extra battery. We fished 13 hours last time.

It's a one day/two night trip. Leave the suitcase at home.

They sell beer on board at not too much of a markup. I don't think they want you to bring your own.

Rod holders along the side of the boat. Case is unnecessary. Reel covers are a good idea if you have them. Some guys take off their reels. I don't.

The crew will fillet.

Absolutely not.

If you can make it to Day at the Docks tomorrow you can check out the boat and ask the crew any other questions, or ask one of us OEX bums.

I'm going next week, 27th, can't wait. My bro just reconfirmed, do you think he would be better off on a outback peddle or malibu II?
