FishAlert MLPA Smartphone App
Downloaded this smartphone app a few days ago, and after playing around with it, have to highly recommend it to all the california fishermen here.
FishAlert has an interactive map of every MLPA and Conservation area in the state, and places your location on the map, so you can see if you are in or out of the boundary. Here I've zoomed over to La Jolla - my actual location is just off the map to the right. The App also has a few cool and useful features like when you click on an area, you can get a description and whats allowed in that area. Clicking on the Weather button gives you the current wind and weather conditions for your location. Clicking on the Tides button gives you the days tide table, what the tide is at that moment, and which direction is going. A really cool "all in one" app. I haven't used the Fish Pix button yet, but there is a "Tap to Tweet" and a "Tap to FB" button to automatically upload the picture. |
