I really tried my best to release this guy. Landed him by hand but noticed my stinger was imbedded in his gill. The fished started to bleed pretty good so I clipped him to see if it would stop. After awhile, he looked good enough to release so I pulled out the camera. Dead batteries. Oh well, on my way home picked up some new batteries for the cheesey driveway shot. 29 3/4" 10lbs |

I nailed the flatties this week, but from the bank. I was just noticing my pics, and I have one that went 7 lbs that is a right eyed butt..... he is facing the wrong way. So since DP is the hali king, I was wondering how many hali do you have that appear to be the wrong side?

I never paid too much attention to their orientation. However, after a quick check through this years pics, it turned out to be about 50/50.

You definitely know your subject well. We're not worthy! Being a teacher, I bet you could write a really informative article on the art of halibut fishing from a kayak!!
In all seriousness, if they were to resurrect the "tip of the month" articles, I'd be very interested in reading about your techniques. |
