Dana Point 12/22
Anyway the fishing was the best I've had in a while. Nothing big but at least it was very steady pick of Kelp, Calico Bass with a couple of sheephead, leapord shorks and scuplin thrown in. i origianlly wanted to start out fishing for Halibut but that prove to be a challenge. He kept getting hung up in the kelp with either his line or the Mirage drive. So I anchored him to the kelp in an area i usually get some sheepshead. Fishing with shrimp on the bootom. over all he had a blast and we didn't get skunked so a great day was had. It was chilly in the morning untill the sun came out and warmed up quickly. |

Was this at the super secret Headlands spot?
I'll be taking out my bro-in law here in January. I won't let him on the Outback for those reasons you mentioned (rookies). I was surf fishing yesterday at the headlands (south strands) and saw a couple of yakers right off the point around 10:30 am. Was it you? I didn't see anyone else out there. |

Good job getting your BiL on some fish. I haven't been out in a couple weeks, can't wait to get wet again.
