Once the wide open squid bite dissipated in the end of September, people think you can't catch fish anymore
For the past 2-3 weeks, me and Rob have been the only boats out there most days, sometimes a few faces here and there When fish make it to the reports section it's all hands on deck. The days we fish alone are usually the best days |

is there still a rule against saying, in a report, who you saw fishing while fishing in a public place? I seem to remember a certain person getting upset about another person mentioning that person caught a fish in their report. but that was back in early 2011.

could have, if half had been geared for rockfish and the other chasing tail i would believe it.. but all were looking for squid and ready to tag some tail.
and i think only one was caught.

I think that being a Saturday of a holiday weekend played a huge role in the increase of us out in LJ, some attendees there because of recent reports, but the biggest factor is those out to get their first lollipop. Has to be it.
I did see one nice sized fish CnR'd, but that's not my story to tell. I will say that it was the first time I'd ever seen one in person. Huge is an understatement. Be it 2-3 or 20 of us out there, I always have a great time. Met a few new folks yesterday, saw some old faces as well, all in all a great day on the water.

Neither of us said it was bad. Surprising though, yup.
I don't see too many of us as bad really. When we're many, the PB's stay out of the fray, except for the Sasquatch (Sea Watch) of course. Two bad things can come from too many of us...we get tangled up or worse... there is a shortage of lollipops if the bite is WFO. Also, very cool to be rolling with your Pops again. I would give pretty much anything I own to be able to do that with mine, it's just not in the cards.

I usually go out during the week and would never go out on a weekend in the summer. I just figured that we are running out of real nice weather so I decided on a Saturday launch.
It was great meeting everyone PLUS I got a three lollipop fish! I accidentally posted my report under General Discussions... Sorry, I guess that will cost me one lollipop. |

I hooked a fatty WSB on the lollipop friday. It got twisted in the kelp and my line went pop!! I was pissed all the way to the launch
I vented my frusration to the lollipopman and after he gave me two pink colored lollipops i felt much better. Thanks Rob! |
