Talking Nearly 6 Ft Soupin Shark Caught From Shore

So my buddy and I decided to hit some shoreline around 10pm. The water about 73 degrees and super calm. Our pop open a beer before the first cast and praising the fishing GOD's ritual to start the night. We slapped some squid on the rig and thru it out. Literally my first cast and WAM... The drag starts peeling off my reel. I got a shimano baitrunner so it turned out to be a great fight. 25 minutes and I had her up on shore. Below are a couple images and a video of us wrangling it up on shore.

The incoming tide and your post got me out to Del Mar yesterday. Conditions were as good as it gets. I took my 10# braid and flung out chunks of greenies and half sardines. No weed on the water! The undertow would grab the bait and pull it out like I was flylining bait. I got a half dozen shovelnose for some great fights on the light rod in only a couple of hours of fishing...

ok, you probably already know this, just in case someone else doesn't, but I think the only part of LJ open from shore is north of the pier. Or south of the cove. And then only a little way due to MLPA area.

There sure are lots of big corbina swimming around LJ shores, but can't go after them.
