some observation, LJ Sunday
I know there are only a few guys that fish from the hobie AIs but i have been pushing the limits of this kayak's fishing capabilities and want to share. Yesterday I experimented with trolling while under sail. I did some tacking and jibing to test speed control down and across wind. It took a bit of practice but by reefing or letting out more sail I could keep control. On a long strait courses it would be easy to maintain a constant speed. By sitting up on the bait tank with my left foot on the tiller I was able to hold a rod and the sheet rope at the same, as well as see better. It might be too much a pain in the ass but it was fun to try and might have it's place in my arsenal of techniques. Posibly if we get a crazy tuna dorado inshore season I could launch at the shores, head out a few miles for some high speed trolling or even haul all the way to Mission Bay. WTH. Mike |

Thanks for sharing! This could very well open up alot of possibilities if some exotics move in fairly close!

That is too cool! My next accessory for my PA12 will most likely be a sail, always wanted one.

Nice Mike. I saw two flying fish fly out the back of a wave at La Jolla reefs this year, that was back in June! First I've seen here.
