Has anyone beach launched from Manhattan or Hermosa?

Hey Guys,

I am wondering if anyone has launched and landed safely from either Manhattan or Hermosa beach. I paddled out from king harbor to Manhattan last Saturday and it took me about 3 1/2 hours to paddle out and 2 1/2 hours to paddle back I looking for a shorter route.

Thanks

PV might be a better idea/place to launch from.

Duh

PV to Manhattan? That's a real time saver...?
That Manhattan/Hermosa area is a tough beach break to launch thru...

From the Harbor mouth at Redondo/King Harbor it is only a bit over 3 miles to Manhattan Beach pier. Without a strong current or headwind, it should not take you more than an hour and a half or so. Picking a day with the right wind conditions can be priceless (if the fish are biting that day).

Thanks, I will pass on the surf launch then. I was watching how easy it was for my buddie in a Hobie in the wind that day and I definitely had peddle envy. Maybe I just need to get a Hobie with some turbo fins so I could peddle instead of paddling.
