Prowler 13 VS Tarpon 140

Hi guys,

I am new to Kayak fishing and have the opportunity to use either a Prowler 13 or a Tarpon 140. Which do you think is more suitable to fishing LJ? Some say the 140 is not as stable and harder to go through the surf, thus more chances to wipe out. True? Thanks.

My 140 was awesome to paddle on. Great seat for all day fishing. While not the most nimble through the surf it did good. The better you are at judging waves and sets the easier surf landings are. So if you surf your g2g. Cant comment on the prowler but it does have a big following.

I have paddled and fished from both the Prowler surfs far better and the deck storage is far better than the Tarpon 140. If you have the opportunity you should find a shop like OEX that you can try them at not all kayaks feel the same to everyone.

I haven't used either but surf is usually a non issue @ the LJ launch. See the webcam link above. I would go with comfort and what ever is best to paddle.
