Well, just got back and I have to say that there wasn't any action for us. Lots of mackerel and sardines but no hits at all.
Saw a lot of seals early in the morning and by the afternoon, a group of dolphins swimming outside the jetty had begun feeding in the bay as well. |

I was told the same thing by a fisherman on the dock when I came back and called it for the day. There's always a next time.

Nope, I'm only 20 miles away on PCH so no hotel stay for me. I consider that local since that's something I could do at a moment's notice on the weekend. Might be back there in early April again.
According to DFG, there is no size limit on Thresher Sharks with a bag limit of 2 per day. |

We were the only kayakers out there that day until early afternoon when Mr. Adventure arrived. He was on his way down to Crystal Cove. Haven't seen his post so not sure if he caught any.

Nada, the surf started going crazy breaking over the reefs at crystal cove. Water clarity was crap.
I did come across a jellyfish with a 2.5 ft dome floating that was crazy. LOTS of dolphins and macs |
