Not sure about Point Loma (I know of shelter island launch only) - but LJ launch is here http://g.co/maps/bdqg7

and the "LJ Webcam" on the menu above is the live view of launch spot

SI nice launch but over by the bridge is some better water, launch from
Tidelands park real close to the bridge, it's quite a paddle to the bridge from SI...doable but you will cut approx an hour paddle by launching at
Tidelands

Lawrence Beach in Point Loma is a good spot. Easy to park, a lot of different directions to go from the launch and usualy low boat traffic. It's off Rosecranz and Lawrence.

Looking forward to it but I have a stealth 14 pretty stable and I'm pretty confident with it.

Sunset Cliffs is called that because of the cliffs. There are some trails but getting a kayak down there would be a tough deal. You could launch by the pier in Ocean Beach and head south but I haven't heard of many doing that though. I've launched at Laurence a few times but thats a long haul to the PL kelp. Also they might have made the street there 2 hour parking. Grrr, I guess the 1%-ers got tired of us 99-ers using their beach. Mike

If you're looking to launch from Sunset Cliffs try the end of Cable St. on a day with minimal swell I think it's doable.

Sorry about the confusion AzBAsskilla, What I meant was the lawrence beach is a good launch.

I'll be back on the water in two weeks. Let me know if you want to roll out. I'll take you to a spot or two and we can fish it.
