I bet you that statue is front of the MLPA. Their Motto: Getting kayaks off our water, one plastic boat at a time.

That monument is in Vegas.
When I saw, it I thought, "Now why would they go and waste a whole bunch of kayaks and canoes like that?" |

They got a similar sculpture up behind the museum of art next to the Childrens Pool (Casa Cove) at La Jolla.
It is directly behind the "People's Wall", just south of Casa, on the roof of the building. You can swing by to take a look if you are nearby. It's pretty neat. They drill holes in the bottom of the yaks and boats to let water drain during the rain so they are no longer usable.... Yea... I checked. |
