Zuniga 10/22/11

Hit Zuniga and some of the bay on Saturday morning. OTW at 7 to a decent outgoing. Overcast all day with a few breaks around 11:30. Loaded back up at 12:30. It was a steady pick at the rattlers and turds. A few others mixed in.

West Marine wire caps. They are usually near the stereo/radio stock. They come in white & black. Also, if you run both cables through it, you will have to modify it a little. Not a big deal. Or you could just two.http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...classNum=11106

Man, I messed with that thing for an hour and could never get it to work properly. Is it because I haven't done 4.0 yet? I selected the "Navionics" drop-down and it changed but looked nothing like what it's supposed too.

Bring it in and we can run it on some 4.0 units to see if there is a difference.

And i wouldnt pull the trigger on the upgrade to 4.0 yet .

Great variety of fish there! That's what I love about fishing swim baits you never know what you have on the end of the line till you get it up. Think I might have to pull out the swimmys some time this week and see what I can catch

A little stretch of beach called 'La Playa'. Directly across from the SDHP boat station.

Which SDHP station is that? It's not the one all the way inside the bay is it? I've been looking for somewhere to launch off of rosecrans near the sub base...just haven't gotten my butt down there to scope it out yet.

The Fish N Chip does not cover all inshore areas at 1 foot contours unfortunately. Dana Pt. is an example of an area that does not have the 1 foot contours, I think they are like every 6 feet of depth. Not sure what their rhyme or reason is cause they do have them for San Onofre?

About 2 miles? I usually only fish that spot or the point when I can ride a good outgoing.

What is extremely cool is a good friend of mine just bough a condo in that photo and has not moved in yet. I will be launching from there quite a bit in the very near future.

I am trying to talk him and his wife on getting kayaks and they say they will. Once he has a kayak, converting him into a kayak fisher should be easy
