LJ 8/13 AM 50+ lbs of YT

And it came in the form of two 28.8lb fish.

Copied Holy Mac's technique and fished the shallows. Actually, I was fishing for halibut but kept catching these damn YT. Oh well. One was a long skinny male, the other a tank of a female. Both on greenies in 25ft of water. Had another one going on the sabiki but the snap swivel failed. Second fish had me convinced it was a shark. Hit the trap rig on a reel with a F-ed clicker. Didn't feel it but the spray from the line peeling out caught me in the face, turned around to see the rod bent in half. Took out about 100 yards in no time, then towed me for a good while at 4-5 knots. Most fun fight I've had in a while.

Sorry to bump ya Mike, but let's raise the bar for the fish of the month. 8)

NICE! I'll be avoiding that area manana, gonna look for something a little more user friendly to put my wife on. Could not go with her Friday as my daughters cold was acting up.

That had to be a whole lot of fun, with nowhere for the fish to go, but AWAY!

Shake n bake!

Actually, the first one went screaming towards the reserve, enough that I was starting to get nervous. Then it turned and it was all fun from there. The second ran straight at the one buoy out there, but there was no way to slow it. Made a bit of a turn at the last moment to save me from heartbreak.

Damn

Caught both, husband and wife. Those are nicer than their catching from the paddies.

If you get hooked up and get towed to inside the reserve, can you keep fighting, or do you have to pop it off and get out of there?

No Limits For Brad

I think with the amount of yellows Brad catches and the consistancy of his catches........ we should all hang up our rods and tackle and just let him give all of us some of his left over fish. Just with those two logs he could have given each of us a nice size slab for dinner. After all Brad himself said he eats what he can and then he gives away the rest of it.
