Dana Point

Had a chance yesterday to do the dawn patrol. From 5a-10a no wind OR people (yakers or PBrs) Where was everyone? The water is clearing. No big squid. Bass fishing was slow with plastics, (smaller calicos and one decent Sand bass).

The bigger mac's were easier to catch. I think they were following me.

Pinned a larger model Mac and sent it down for this critter. I am almost 100% that I caught this bugger twice within 20- minutes. This is the second time. The first time was too perfect, the hook dislodged right at the kayak. After he stuck around looking for the rest of the meal, so I tossed in half eaten bait back to the water. It was a good sport.

Until next time. . .
