saddle carriers or j style

building a trailer for my two kayaks and trying to decide between the sadddle carriers or the j hooks?
its an old jet ski trailer i own and i can put the kayaks flat or on thier sides
most of the pictures i have seen show the kayaks on there side and i figured it was to save space . are the saddles better for support and should i put the kayaks bottom up or not .thanks for any input will take some pictures this weekend i also use it for my rubber boat so it is going to be convertible for either use

For the most part the only reason to put the Yaks on their side is to save space... I would say go with whatever saves you money. Unless you think you might need to add more to the trailer in the future.
