Fresh water bass lures?...help needed

My little nephew is getting into bass fishing and I wanted to spend about $40 on some lures for him. I don't know much about fresh water bass fishing, I have all the basics...plastic worms, spinner baits, crank baits, rapala's, swimbaits..etc.
But if you only had $40 to spend, what would you buy?

I'd get several packs of plastic worms, roboworms are the most popular and offer a zillion colors. Stick with the basic colors, shad ( hologram shad, prizm shad) Greens ( green weenie ) Purples ( MM3, folksted special ) Browns ( orange crusher) are some of my favorites. 40 dollars aren't gonna get you much in terms of quantity but you can pick up a couple luckcraft crankbaits/jerkbaits for just under 40. Swimbaits are crazy expensive and depending on the size require specialized tackle ( some weight up to 6-8 ounces) so heavy tackle amy be required. You can pick up a couple packs of hollowbodied swimbaits that a med/heavy freshwater bass rod accommodate. hope this helps

That's easy for me. Senkos in Tomato pepper and green back/chart belly. Then some Swimmin Senkos in Watermelon red/flake. Then some 3/0 ewg worm hooks to stick them on.
