Sports Authority in Fountain Valley had a stack of Penn 309 levelwind reels. Everything is at least half off, so half off their retail (my very vague memory thinks it was normally $80, but I may be waaay off). They also had a couple jigmasters that some guy was calling a buddy about to see if they wanted them and a couple spinners.

There was some various fishing equipment on the hangers too, but not a lot. I thought SA stopped carrying fishing gear, but I guess they are cleaning out the warehouses

most did about 2-3 years ago, FV is one of the few that still had a fishing department.

NP. I got the grey one and the blue one! I like how breathable it is. I have spent $30 on long sleeve shirts so for an exofficio hoody its a no brainer. Good thing too cause L is sold out in both colors

How do the hoodies fit? I have a bunch of long sleeve Columbia sun shirts and they all fit 2 sizes larger. I normally wear an XL t shirt, but for those Columbia sun shirts I wear a medium.

I wear L for everything and it seems true to size. I have a Columbia shirt and it is at least one size larger.

One awesome thing to note: the part that goes over your nose is shaped in a way that covers the tip of your nose but allows it to breathe thru each side. The material does not hug your skin like a buff. Also there is a mesh at the mouth part. I didn't feel like I am being slowly suffocated like with a buff.

Where do you see that price? Lowest I see is $450 including the rebate?

I'm still eyeballing this Raymarine unit....

https://www.thegpsstore.com/Raymarin...lus-P4371.aspx

It's the best overall deal I've been able to find online.

The 7 must be sold out, still have the 4 & 5 though. Or call customer service and see if they will extend the discount on a similar model. Never know unless you ask, and the worst they can do is say no

I actually got this same deal on the Hook 7 last December. I am a bit disappointed in it. I am running it on my tin boat. I have the Elite 5 without CHIRP on my yak and it performs much better than my Hook 7. Looses contact with the bottom easily especially if there is a change in depth. Does not desplay bait or fish nearly as clearly as my Elite 5. Anyone else have any input on the Hook line of sounders?

Yeah...I've read bad things about the Hook series not living up to expectations. I've got an older Elite-5 with chirp that I'm also a little disappointed in. Screens can be slow to load and the cartography for LJ sucks.

The Jig Stop

Dave is retiring, everything on sale. It's a good time to pick up a lefty reel as they are always the last to go. I just picked up a Phenix Recon PHX-C804 carbon rod at $70 off. I can't believe how light this thing is, perfect for sandies and spotties. There's quite a few rods left, and avets and accurate reels, but clearing out fast.
