George,
Are we fishing outside where the beach launch is very big, with large rocks all over and that big rip current? I remember last time the wind was blowing from west and east at the same time and the swell was huge? Too bad we never get anything there, but this time it feels different. I smell awesomeness. |

That's still nothing compared to my trip to moss landing 2 summers ago. Day started out with 3-5 foot swells but after paddling quite a few miles from the launch we meet 15-20 foot swells at like 20 secs and had to paddle like hell back to safety. Its a bad feeling when you the swells are taller than your yak is long.... Was the craziest trip of my life. I'm just glad we launched from a bay, if not we would have had to call the coastguard, beach landing was not an option....

Tim sold his yak and moved to Wayoming. He became a big game hunter, regularly kills huge elk and bears.

22nd Saturday? or Sunday 23rd? I don't really have any experience surf launching but I've been dying to go rockfishing and I've never had a chance to go out with anyone. I'd love to join you guys if it's not too tough of a launch. Are you guys launching from the beach or boat launch?

I will miss bein' out there with you all that day, it should be fun...and I hope Santa is good to everybody, Merry Christmas to everyone...

I'll second that but add that there's a ton of pesky sand dabs and lizard fish that will consistently steal your bait while your fishing for the non existent fish.

Is it usually better to fish a couple of days before or after the end of the world?
