LaJolla Yellowtail
Picked up my very first Yellowtail on the yak. Was amazing fishing experience and looking forward to many more. He hit the swim bait on the troll hard.

Congratulations on your first Kayak Yellowtail. You'll never forget your first yellowtail, the fast runs, the clicker and the drag screaming, the rod bendo and the unbelievable hard pull. Then after a while the beautiful sight at color and the beautiful colors when bringing it on deck. The only thing that comes close to that great feeling is when you eat it. Just wait till you fight one twice that size, your arms will feel like noodles after the fight.

I’ve caught some large Yellowtail off my old neighbors power boat. I just couldn’t imagine it off a kayak. It was truly amazing. I just started kayak fishing a few months ago. I cant believe how much I love it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No it was in the rod holder. Funny thing though I bought a cheap Chinese rod holder that mounts on the rail of the old style Hobie Pa 14. As soon as the yellow hit it the rod holder exploded. A spring flew out the plastic thread nob broke I half and shot in the water and the rod just about hit the water just before I grabbed it.
I knew not to buy the cheap Chinese rod holders but just had to live and learn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
