I seem to only find the little lizard fish as by-catch. I've had greenbacks on the bottom plenty of time to not catch a lizard fish of that size. Any tips on finding a bigger one, are you deeper than right on the NW corner in LJ?

Whoa...whoa...whoa...no need to mention La Jolla unless these were La Jolla fish. Too dang crowded there already without feeding the sheep with wrong info.
Just private message the Pepsi guy and he may offer specifics on his latest catch. But then again...

The lizard fish was probably 10-12 inches, the mac that it bit was probably 8-10 inches, these larger grade lizard fish aren't easy to catch but they are around. I've found schools of the smaller grade lizard fish that are so big that you can actually see them on your sonar, on my screen the school looks similar to what a small sardine or anchovy school would look like; slightly scattered and usually hanging out between the bottom and mid column. The Lizard fish that I caught the WSB with is probably the 3rd or 4th larger size lizard that I've caught this year, most have been on the smaller end (4-6 inches).....I dumped those

Greedy little thing. All I ever see on my FF are clouds of bait and purple clutter.

Nice one!

Personally, I hate lizard fish and am always happy to release them with a hook or two attached. Glad to see it worked out in your favor!!
