Even though I went less times out to La Jolla in 2015, than in 2014. I had better luck earlier in the year but less later in 2015. I was able to have more multiple Yellows days than in 2014. These are two pictures from my most productive day in LJ landed 3, 21+lbs Yellows with the largest and still my PB at 27.6lbs and lost one, otherwise 4 on the same day is more than I could have hopped for. One picture is on the water and the other I had to have my step-son take later, because I could not set the camera timer and pick up the 3 yellow at the launch in less than 10 seconds to take a selfie. I totally love La Jolla, what a local treasure!

I"m such a lousy fisherman I don't have any spectacular fish pics to contribute, but love seeing all your pics. What a year!

I quit my full time job in June so after that I pretty much fished the jewel everyday... More yellows than I could count with one 12 fish day (released 8)!
My buddies first time on a yak! Caught a bft on my yak solo out 3 miles. Shot my PB wsb at 71.3 pounds. My girl caught some pigs. My family caught some fish. Little bro. Little sis. What a great year! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I think everyones 2015 was insane!!! Here's a few selects from my 2015.
Started the season with some of those early bluefin (this was my most memorable day for some reason): IMG_0895.jpg Then went ahead and had a lot of nice days on the yak catching some : G0020915.jpg G0038149.jpg I also released about 90% of the yellowtail I had caught this summer: 2015-09-05 06.54.17 pm.jpg Then my dad started letting me use his boat more, so we found these: IMG_1617.jpg IMG_1243.jpg Can't forget about the insane surface iron days just outside the harbor. Launch at 7, tired and done by 9 haha. IMG_1472.jpg Then the yellows went deep so we did some yoyo bending in the cold all by ourselves (these are 35mm Shots), don't know where all the people went?? 23350016.jpg img646.jpg And now I just started 2016 with this catch-and-release yellowtail away from the crowds pictured here. Looks like 2016 may be just as good with all the red crab and fish out there right now! IMG_0143.jpg

Nothing too exciting but lots of YT. Took the girl out one evening to show her what the hell I do all the time. Watching her scream and panic and bring in a mean YT was probably the highlight of the season for me though. I think it was the first fish shes ever caught. I tried to explain how cool of a first catch it was but I'm not sure she understands...

Been off of the grid for a while as I sold my old kayak and am saving for a newer and better one (hobie), but still have some pretty memorable days at LJ to look back and can't wait for this year to roll around!
