My experience is the fish bite on anything and everything in Baja.
If you have a set up that you're really comfortable throwing jigs and own several jigs, bring that, you'll do well. If on other hand you use swimmers like rapala, waxwings etc, bring that set up and use it. You'll have a 100 fish day. If the fly is what you excel with, you can't lose. What I'm trying to say is, "fish the same way, same rig, same technique, and same lures that works best for you here, and you have unbelievable days there". Last year I made five lures from metal crate straps, and lost all but one to fish. They were crummy workmanship and looked awful. Just get your favorite type of lure in the water and hold on to your rod. Do it your way and you'll have excellent days with sore arms. Then you'll have plenty of time to rest your arms from all that pulling while learning a new technique from others down there with you.

[QUOTE=Mahigeer;222290]Me too. Talking to Momo at the Catalina Mole this past weekend, got me all excited.
I do however am concern about lack of language and driving in Mexico. Any ride sharing plans in the work? Nice talking with you last night, hope I got you squared away, if not call again. Thank you. We will get together soon.

Josh, nothing is stopping you except your self, your boss, your wife, your other interests and who knows what else.
Guy's if you really want to do a trip YOU and only YOU can make it happen. If you make it a high priority you can do it. If not you will be 75 and wonder what happened to all your DREAMS. Someone else lived them, maybe it was Rossman and Makobob. Put it off a year, then your wife is PG and guess what? 10 years pass before you can even think about it again. At least YOU have someone you can blame. LIFE GETS in the way, ALWAYS. Tight lines.

Yea if I could afford to take the days off of work I would totally be down. I can get the days off, just can't afford to lose a weeks pay.

Makobob, I sent you a pm, but I might as well post on the thread as well. I realize I am brand new to the board, but I would love, love, love to get in on this if there is still room. Like, I might spontaneously combust if it can happen. As it is, there is nothing holding me back. I've got the time off, and both bosses (the work one and the home one) have given the green light.

If there's still room, this trip would be a dream come true. And reading the various posts and highlights from last year, this really seems like a great group of guys. Not to sound too desparate, but I'm willing to be submit to any drug or psychological testing if necessary |

GR8fuldude,
Maybe we can carpool together, if there is room at the "inn". I am new to kayak, but not fishing. I have all the camping gear for trip like this if needed. |
