Maybe you can update your maps? I would think that software updates are for the OS only, and map updates are a separate download.
MLPA's are on Navionics Gold as well as Navionics+ which is what I am using right now.

Is there a reason you have to delete the update from card? To save space? What I just did was downloaded update to card and inserted in FF. When upload was done I just pulled the chip out, turned on unit and inserted card while the unit was on.

Will it now try to update everytime I turn on?

Mine read the update every time I turned it on and updated go figure
so I just deleted it from my card. As far as the MLPA's maybe because I already have the areas marked off as tracks I cant see the included data. it looks like the lines are fine compared to the bold tracks(see image below). I will try to look at the FF and turn off the tracks and see if it is there.

over at Bd in the socal section under the MLPA there is a post titled something like mlpas for your chartplotter by Dean Bankrobber. He took the time to create all the mlpas as tracks/waypoints and shared them. I was able to import them into my FF and it works great. It amazes me that he can do it but a multi-million dollar company like Navico cant for something that they charge for.
Outstanding. Heading to BD now for those MLPA's. Thanks!

Sometimes navionics customer service is a little shaky in my experiences.

Good luck!

So I contacted navionics and well to put it kindly the suck wet monkey nuts, when it comes to customer service. They insisted that the gold card is not a navionics card even though it contains their data. WTF? So I got in touch with Lowrance. After a few Emails to and from Greg Hunter problem solved with a vengeance. Thanks to Greg and the team at Lowrance.

Is it showing the MLPAs now?

I just updated my elite 7 and my gold card and the MLPA is not showing when I load up navionics coastal. Is there any setting I have to change for it to display?

Yes. Go to the main screen. Hit menu, then charts, then change from the navionics version to the fish and chips charts. Look again and you should have the MLPA's
