Personal best Ventura

So my buddy mo and I slept in and got on the water rather late by 11 am. Fished hard up the line with not much to show for it ... Hit some deep structure and just got kind of burnt out and was drifting a Spanish Mac in about 80 feet . We where discussing how slow the day was and about the wind coming up when booom my rod starts peeling ! Personal best and first Hali on the yak 43 inch 31 lb halibut o ya and I finally popped my gaffs cherry !

Congrats on a pig.

Your first Hali comes in at 31 pounds? Wtf?

It's all downhill from here.

Congrats on a nice fish .
Nice launch conditions also .

If you don't mind me asking...where abouts in Ventura is that? I live just inland over the 126 hwy. I've been to many beaches in the area and that doesn't look familiar with those conditions!
If you'd rather not disclose, that's OK I'll spend the summer doing recon.
