How many yaks/anglers do they take (12-15?)

If they are planning on hitting SCI, and the Navy closes it for bombing or whatever, do you just go to Catalina instead?

Thanks for the info gents, definitely have to get on one of these trips.

Fish caught on these trips are also eligible for WCW / jackpots right?

This link has some of the the info
http://www.bigwatersedge.com/index.php?page=islander

The Islander has a rack that will hold about 22 kayak. The crew can get all of the kayaks launched faster than most of the kayakers can get their s**t together, so you don't have to worry about that. The Islander is a long range boat that can easily accommodate 22. They have nice sized staterooms (2 or 3 to a cabin) and a large galley. It is a very good operation and they have done everything to make these mothership trips run smoothly.
You leave Friday night and should get to SCI (alternative is Catalina if SCI is closed) before dawn. Kayaks are launched early and you can stay out until dusk if you want. They will take food, drinks and bait out to you in the skiff if you don't want to come in. This is a serious full day of fishing. They head back after dinner and you'll wake up Sunday morning coming into San Diego.
Fish after the start of WCW (May 19th) are eligible

Would love to jump on the next trip but gotta budget a little bit, getting hitched June 30th and need to pay for a bit of a honeymoon. Gonna take a cruise to the Mexican Riverera with stops in P.V. and Cabo , so hopefully we can get a billfish on one excursion. We will probably pay for a boat, but would love to kayak, if it is a better alternative . Anyone got info on kayakin way down south? Outfitters?
Yes, I will probably jump on one of the mothership trips if there is space available this summer, but I do gotta get cheap for a little bit comin up, mostly because Im already booked on a two day and a three day tuna trip for the summer too , and just dropped just shy of $3,000 on a new rig at O.E.X.

Chris, sorry for the threadjack , excellent write-up, looks like an f'n awesome time.

Damn, just heard they have officially cancelled it. I guess someone forgot it was easter. Next one is April 27th.
Damn, that was anti-climactic.
Easter Schmeaster.
