What i like to do
A) Weather.com and type in the zip code i am going to and do an hourly forecast. Tommorrow should start at 8mph and cloudy which mean alot more paddling I personally like days when the wind is at 3-5mph at the crack of dawn (esPECIALLY IF YOU EVER HIT LONG BEACH CABRILLO) ... b) then i go to http://magicseaweed.com/Scripps-Pier...rf-Report/296/ looks like the surf is low but pretty cloudy and you can have wind gust up to 12 mph in the afternoon c) when ever you do beach launches i like to go to surfline.com and see what the surf is going to be like At the end of day some website give you diffrent information, But what it is easy to us might not seem easy to you. I would go... (if i lived close)

Go tomorrow, maybe Thursday is a good option for a 1ster to LJ. Forget about Friday through Sunday. Those use to be reserved for nuts, like Madscientist.
